About Me

Alison Tait

I am an Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) qualified coach as well as an HR professional and Chartered Member of the CIPD, with over 30 years HR experience.
I started out in retail management, quickly followed by specialist human resource management in various sectors as diverse as financial services, retail, and technology businesses, as well as not-for-profit organisations, and I have a wealth of business experience.

I am also a mum of three children who has taken time out to raise them, juggling both a career and home life. It's so true that life is what we make it, and while sometimes our life experiences can be painful, if we can accept and move on from this, as just part of life's journey, we become a stronger, wiser, more grounded individual. I will listen to you and understand you, without judgement, so have no fears about meeting me: I will help you to find your way forward.

My business experience involves providing support, advice, guidance and coaching to business management and employees alike. Often this can involve complex work situations or personal issues that affect working lives, and sometimes the two are intertwined. My business philosophy, while pragmatic and firmly grounded in reality, is that nothing is impossible and positive outcomes can be achieved for all concerned.

Businesses also have a need to continually evolve, or they fail, and successfully managing any change requires the exploration of many possible scenarios in terms of planning, process, communication, implementation, and reflection to be successful. Executive coaching will enable you to safely explore a myriad of possibilities and develop the confidence to decide and take action on your next steps in a way that's right for you.

Life is full of challenges; some would say that's what makes us who we are today. But what if we'd had just a bit more direction or support at critical times in our working life? What if we didn't need to endure a difficult situation as long as we did before realising that we needed to look at things differently or make a change? Life and work are what we make them, but sometimes fear, imposter syndrome, apathy, stress, lack of confidence, finances and just the conveyor belt of life get in the way, and we can't get off the treadmill. When we do, we wonder what took us so long.

My coaching style is non-directive: I listen and seek to understand you, help you realise your strengths to find new solutions and look at new perspectives. You are as unique and important as any individual, and coaching or mentoring will be personalised for you.
